In Cantonese, some of the f sounds obvious came from the path of *k > *h > f. Some Hakka sounds also have this tendency.

这一现象也见于某些赣语。
曹志耘搞的《汉语方言地图集》有两张图：

这个ɸ 是类似于 f 的双唇清擦音，不是零声母 Ø 。
以前江西和湖南不少地方都有ɸ 这种音，现在好象要消失了。
